History

The name of these courts comes from an Aboriginal word meaning friends.  The Ferny Hills Progress Association arrived at this name after running a local “Name our Land” competition.  The first lease for the land was signed in 1976.

October 1977 - the courts were built by the Pine Rivers Shire Council.

December 1977 - the first tennis game was played on the new courts.

May 1978 - the Progress Association completed the building of one of the amenities blocks.  The building work was carried out by local people, some of whom still use the courts today.

April 1979 - lights were installed to allow night games.  In July 1985, these were upgraded to a higher wattage, eliminating shadows on the courts.

October 1980 - the second amenities block was completed.
